What makes iWi omega-3's better than other algae-based supplements?
Our patented Almega PL oil is a patented ingredient that has been proven to have the highest acute Omega-3 bioavailability on the market! This means that your body will absorb more of this essential nutrient when you take iWi products when compared to supplementing with fish or krill oils.
When you say that algae has higher absorption than fish or krill, is there a certain
percentage or ratio that you can quantify?
We looked at studies that compared the bioavailability of Omega-3s from fish and krill oil, against our Almega PL algae oil:
Algae: ~300 µg omega 3’s absorbed
Krill: ~200 µg omega 3’s absorbed
Fish: ~130 µg omega 3’s absorbed
This shows algae oil provides 1.5 times more Omega-3s than krill and more than twice the amount than fish.

What makes your production process sustainable?
Algae farming is smart farming. We yield more nutrient-rich produce per acre of non-arable land compared to traditional crop farming, using naturally occurring resources: saltwater and sunlight!
Most importantly, we do not catch fish or krill for our Omega-3s. We believe they are best left where they belong, in our seas. This prevents disruption to the delicate marine ecosystems, which preserves the life of the planet.
What are EPA & DHA? I see them mentioned a lot.
EPA and DHA are both fatty acids, collectively known as Omega-3s. Omega-3s are considered “good fats”. There is evidence to show that they can help ease arthritis, slow mental decline, decrease heart disease, and prevent depression.
Our bodies cannot develop Omega-3 naturally, however. We must get our supply from foods or supplements that are rich in Omega-3s.
Are you trying to replace fish and krill oil?
Our algae oil products contain more Omega-3s than any fish or krill oil. We believe our production methods are more sustainable, and have less impact on the environment, without removing fish or krill from the delicate food chains of the ocean. We believe you should have all options available to you.
Are the Omega 6, Omega 7, Omega 9, Polar Lipids, and Chlorophyll added ingredients? If so, what is the source?
No, all the items listed in the Supplemental Facts are naturally occuring in our algal oil.
What are the “Other Ingredients” in your products?
The “Other Ingredients” listed are other items that make our vegan softgel.
Do your products contain cholesterol?
All algae produce naturally forming cholesterol, called HDL. This is known as the “good” cholesterol and is found in seaweed such as nori. Our products are still 100% vegan friendly.
